It has been a very exciting week in the Superstars! Monday, one of our parent's brought in fossils for us to investigate. Every child went home with a fossil that was millions of years old. The children helped reveal the fossils encased in shale using a hammer and screwdriver and then cleaned it off with a soft brush. This was exciting for all of us!
Then we started work on our books. The children dictated stories about their stuffed critters that were sewn by one of our parents. The stories are wonderful and the kids did a great job of illustrating their stories.
Friday we visited the Burke Museum at the University of Washington. We learned more about dinosaurs and fossils there and then had lunch in the HUB. Finally, we invited the parents and other Seabury students to visit our class to read our books. The kids are so proud of their work and so are we! Thanks to everyone to came in and read our books and listened to some of the kids read. It was a great ending to the week!
