It's been quite the week in the Superstars! We used props to tell each other fairy tales and learned about "beginning, middle, end" when analyzing a story. Learning about these elements, along with main character, setting, and plot make it easier for the kids to comprehend what they are reading and are helpful for writing our own stories. We also had our 100 day celebration this week. Everyone brought in a collection of 100 things. We weighed our collections to see what was the heaviest and the lightest. We counted by 10's to make a "snake" out of different materials to see which was the longest. We made number lines using 10's, 20's and 25's as the units of measure. Finally, we had our own Olympic Games on Friday with the Shark Class. We did lots of measuring while we participated in the "cotton ball shot put", the "straw javelin", the "paper plate discus", the high jump and the leg stretch. At the end of the day, everyone went home with a gold medal.
