The month of April has been spent learning about the tropical rain forest. We have learned about the 4 layers of the rain forest, deforestation, endangered animals and the many different species of birds, reptiles, insects and animals that live in the rain forest. The children are currently working on their rain forest research projects. Each child has picked a creature from the rain forest and found information on the computer about their subject. This week we will use the research information to decide the important facts we want to share with each other. This has been a really interesting unit to do with the kids. It is amazing how easily they grasp the important issues associated with the loss of the world's rain forests. We have had many discussions about the ways we can save our natural resources like the rain forest.
