Welcome Spring!

We hope everyone is having a restful spring break! We're looking forward to packing the last few weeks of school with interesting learning experiences for your child.

Before break, we started a new activity that teaches active listening. It has been interesting to watch the children listening, relaxing and using their imaginations. These activities teach the kids to focus while they are listening.

At Seabury, we think recess and free choice time in the classroom are important parts of the kindergarten day. These are times when the children can practice their negotiating skills and learn the give and take necessary to get along with their peers. They have the opportunity to explore the science table, read with friends, use their imagination and work together. While most of the day is spent working on academic skills, the social skills they learn during these less structured parts of the day are important to the social and emotional growth of our Superstars.
